The Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN) is a national collaborative network focussed on developing Australia’s sports technologies industry. We are a not-for-profit member-based organisation comprising leaders across the entire ‘sports eco-system’ in Australia, including sports tech firms, national sporting organisations, sports retailers and marketers, universities, researchers, and investors. The ASTN plays a leadership role in assisting Australian organizations involved in sports technologies to develop research and commercial opportunities, both nationally and globally.

MTPConnect is a not-for-profit organisation aiming to accelerate the rate of growth of the medical technologies, biotechnologies and pharmaceuticals sector to increase commercialisation, collaboration and establish Australia as an Asia-Pacific hub for MTP companies. Formed in December 2015 as part of the Federal Government’s Industry Growth Centres Initiative, MTPConnect is an independent and trusted voice, calling for change to support the sector. MTPConnect raises awareness, fosters collaboration and competition, aggregates existing knowledge and shares it with the broader sector. It also jointly funds projects that address the Sector Growth Priorities and the constraints and gaps identified in the sector. MTPConnect's mandate as an Industry Growth Centre is focused on four key areas: Increasing collaboration and commercialisation across the sector Improving management and workforce skills Improving access to global supply chains and international markets Optimising the regulatory environment In WA, the State Government, through the New Industries Fund, committed $1.2 million over four years to establish a medical technology, biotechnologies and pharmaceuticals innovation hub, MTP(Med Tech Pharma)Connect WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub (WALSIH), to grow Western Australia's life sciences sector and support local jobs. Two full time appointments will support this activity - Professor Kevin Pfleger as Director of the WALSIH; and Dr Kate Brooks recently appointed as Director, Stakeholder Engagement. The WA MTPConnect Hub is a partnership between the WA Government, MTPConnect and The University of Western Australia, and will focus on: digitally enabled MTP solutions – particularly rural and remote applications; the development of medical devices; precision medicine and regenerative medicine products and services including utilising the State's internationally recognised capability in phenomics; clinical trials and development of pre-clinical expertise and capability; skills development in product translation and commercialisation; and investment attraction
